PHILADELPHIA — The Please Touch Museum is open again after closing more than a year ago due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Only members are able to visit the museum Thursday through Sunday, and Thursday, April 15 through Sunday, April 18.

New memberships are available for those who wish to come to the Museum during its first two weekends of reopening. Details on memberships are available here.

Then the museum will open to the public on April 22.

From April 22 to April 25, the museum will have free admission thanks to the GIANT Company's sponsorship.

Additionally, PNC Bank is sponsoring free admission May 1 and May 2.

If someone in your party has been sick in the past 48 hours or has been exposed to coronavirus before coming to the museum, call 215-581-3184 or email tickets@pleasetouchmuseum.org to transfer your reservation to a future date. Tickets are non-refundable.

The museum be open Thursdays through Sundays with morning sessions from 9 a.m. to noon, and afternoon sessions from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

These sessions will allow for a midday closure for cleaning and sanitizing from noon to 1:30 p.m. with the same procedure being followed at the end of each day.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday closures will allow for immersive cleaning and planning.

Visitors must wear well-fitting masks over the nose and mouth for everyone 2 and older. Gaiters must be two layers or folded to make two layers. Face shields alone are not an acceptable form of face covering.

Clean props will be placed into exhibits at the beginning of morning and afternoon sessions. If a prop becomes dirty, guests are asked to place it in a designated bin or alert a staff member.

Touchless hand sanitizers have been installed throughout the museum for use between handwashing.

Cleaning of high touch surfaces occurs during the morning and afternoon sessions.

Eating and drinking in the museum’s exhibit areas is prohibited and outside food is not permitted. The museum's water fountains and filling stations are closed, as well.

Additionally, museum staff members will submit a daily health assessment before coming to the museum.
