Retro Roller Rink Replacing Ice Rink At Dilworth Park

PHILADELPHIA — Dilworth Park at Philadelphia City Hall is always bustling with shoppers and ice skaters during the winter months.

But soon, the popular Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink will transform in to a retro roller rink.

The Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink opens Friday, April 30 and will be open through Sunday, June 27.

The rink will feature a checkerboard floor and lights, as well as an art installation of overhead hula-hoops by Philadelphia's Lucky Dog Studio.

Those who want to lace up and skate around the roller rink can sign up for specific dates and times here.

Prices are $15 for adults with skate rentals and $13 for children with skate rentals. Tickets are just $10 for adults without skate rentals and $8 for kids without skate rentals.

The group rate for 10 people or more is $12.

Queue line will be open 30 minutes prior to designated skating sessions. Skaters are urged to arrive early to ensure time for check in and allow for maximum time on the rink.

Additionally, skaters are asked to leave within 15 minutes after their session ends to allow for cleaning and preparation for the next session.

When in the roller rink area, masks are required.

Socks must be worn when using rental skated.

Shoes will not be stored by rink staff when renting skates and skaters are encouraged to rent lockers to ensure their belongings are secure.
