Storms Threaten PA Friday, Then Big Warmup: Latest Forecast
Another round of severe weather is possible across the Philadelphia region Friday ahead of the season's first heat wave.

EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Another round of severe weather is possible across the Philadelphia region Friday ahead of the season's first heat wave.
The National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook remains in place Friday, as more thunderstorms could come through the region. The weather service says there's a 50 percent chance for another round of severe weather through Friday afternoon and evening.
The main threat from this system will be damaging winds, forecasters say.

New rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are possible. Higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms. The chance of showers and thunderstorms remains through about 10 p.m., but the likelihood of severe weather tapers off into the evening.
According to The Weather Channel, severe weather is most likely in the Philadelphia region between 2 and 6 p.m. There is a 90 percent chance of storms at 4 p.m., forecasters say.

After this next round of storms moves through, prepare for some heat: Daytime highs will be in the 90s through next week as the season's first heat wave arrives.
Sunday's high is expected to be in the mid-90s. The hottest days of the heat wave will be Monday and Tuesday, the weather service predicts. Highs of 95 are expected in the Philadelphia region on those days.
Temperatures will be in stark contrast to the unseasonably chilly ones over the Memorial Day weekend.
"This weekend will be entirely different when compared to last weekend," AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said. "We expect temperatures to climb 30, 35 and even 40 degrees higher this Saturday and Sunday versus last Saturday and Sunday."
Headed to the beach? You're in luck.
"The weather at the beach will be nearly ideal," AccuWeather said, noting there will be plenty of sunshine and afternoon sea breezes.
