Young Wallingford Actor Ogres-Out in 'Shrek The Musical'

Sean O'Neill returns to the Walnut Street Theatre as Young Shrek in "Shrek The Musical"

Sean O'Neill is going green for the holidays for Shrek the Musical at the Walnut Street Theatre - playing now through January 5.

Based on the DreamWorks film, Shrek The Musical is the story of a reclusive ogre who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Complete with new songs and an outrageous cast of fairytale characters, this hilarious musical is entertainment for children and adults alike.

Sean O’Neill is a 7th grade student at Strath Haven Middle School and lives in Wallingford, Pennsylvania. In Shrek the Musical, he plays Young Shrek, an ogre cast out into the world by his parents to live alone in a swamp. Shrek the Musical marks Sean’s third production with the Walnut, having previously appeared in A Christmas Carol and Matilda. Sean started acting when he was 3 after a director noticed him in his (at the time) signature sunglasses, rain boots and cape. In order to be in Shrek, Sean had to quit his middle school football team, which was a difficult decision.
