3 Shootings In Pittsburgh Leave 2 Critically Wounded
One of the shootings occurred outside of UPMC Children's Hospital; another critically wounded a 6-year-old girl.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Three shootings in Pittsburgh Thursday evening left two people critically wounded. One is a 6-year-old girl.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, one shooting occurred outside of UPMC Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville, another occurred in Homewood and yet another happened in the city's East Hills neighborhood.
In Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh police, UPMC police and University of Pittsburgh police responded to a large fight outside of Children's Hospital. When they arrived, they found a male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

A second victim noticed he had been struck by gunfire when he returned home. He is in the hospital in stable condition, public safety officials said.
On Friday afternoon, police announced they had made an arrest in the case.Gerald Porter, 22, has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.

Also on Thursday, Zone 5 officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 7100 block of Frankstown Avenue in Homewood. They found a 6-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and rendered aid until medics arrived. The girl last was reported in critical condition at a local hospital.
The adult driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
The third shooting occurred in the 2200 block of East Hills Drive around 8:15 p.m. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered evidence that a shooting had occurred. While they were on the scene, they were notified a male gunshot victim had arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle. His condition was unavailable Friday morning.
The investigations into the three shootings are ongoing, police said.
