PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered one restaurant to close and placed a consumer alert on another after recent inspections turned up numerous health code violations.
Boston Market on Baum Boulevard in Shadyside was shut down after an inspector found Improper storage of in-use utensils, inadequate waste water disposal leading to standing water in a food preparation area, inadequate handwashing facilities and inadequate pest management.

The consumer alert was issued for the Rose Tea Cafe on Forbes Avenue in Squirrel Hill.
An inspection revealed unapproved food, improper food cooling, lack of date marking, improper storage of raw and ready-to-eat foods, inadequate cleaning and sanitization, inadequate handwashing facilities, inadequate pest management, and lack of a certified food protection manager.
