Alligator Nabbed Outside Of Pittsburgh-Area Supermarket
Yet another alligator is captured on the loose around Pittsburgh this year.
PITTSBURGH, PA - A two-foot long alligator was apprehended early Friday outside a Giant Eagle supermarket in Shaler. It's the fourth time this year an alligator was caught in the Pittsburgh area and turned over to animal control agencies.
Shaler police believe the alligator might be a pet that escaped from its home. Anyone recognizing the animal is urged to contact the department.
Three alligators captured separately as they recently roamed Pittsburgh streets last month were shipped to the Cape May Zoo in New Jersey, where they will be held until they can make it to their new permanent home: Croc Encounters Reptile Park and Wildlife Center in Tampa.
