Bake Sale To Aid Kids Of Pittsburgh-Area Baker Killed In Accident
The final creations of bakery owner Kara Leo will be sold to benefit the two children she left behind when she died last month.
MT. LEBANON, PA — The family and friends of a bakery shop owner who was killed last month in a freak accident will hold a bake sale Saturday to benefit her two children.
The sale begins at 10 a.m. at Kara Kakes on Beverly Road. Sales will be cash only and donations will be accepted.
Bakery owner Kara Leo died June 17 after she and her husband were struck by a falling tree limb in Boyce-Mayview Park in Upper St. Clair. Ms. Leo's husband, Jared Quinteros, was critically injured in the accident, which occurred while the couple was hiking.

"Kara frequently baked all of her delicious cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and other treats days before they would be displayed in her shop," a post on the Kara Kakes Facebook page stated. "We’re
finishing the work she started so we can offer them to the community she loved."
In addition to the bake sale, a GoFundMe page was established to assist the family.
