Cat's Leg Amputated After Firecrackers Attached To Paw Explode
The appalling act of animal cruelty is believed to have occurred around the Fourth of July.

PITTSBURGH, PA - In an abhorrent case of animal abuse, a cat's leg had to be amputated after firecrackers tied to its paw with rubber bands exploded. The feline, named Pickles, is recovering at Humane Animal Rescue where a good Samaritan brought the wounded animal.
The paw was severely infected and maggot-infested and the leg could not be saved.
“There wasn’t really any paw left. What was still there was barely hanging on by the rubber bands,” Jamie Wilson, Humane Animal Rescue's director of medical business, said in a social media post. “Her bone was exposed and she was severely dehydrated. I had to stop her from eating & drinking too quickly so she wouldn’t get sick.”

The FBI last year began categorizing animal cruelty as a Group A felony.
Calling animal abuse a "crime against society, law enforcement agencies will have to report incidents and arrests in four areas: simpler gross neglect; intentional abuse and torture; organized abuse, including dogfighting and cockfighting; and animal sexual abuse," theFBI said last year in a statement. "The immediate benefit is it will be in front of law enforcement every month when they have to do their crime reports."
