Consumer Alert Issued For Pittsburgh-Area Pizza Shop
The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for a popular Pittsburgh-area pizzeria.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for the Italian Village Pizza-Shake Shack on Old Clairton Road in Pleasant Hills for numerous health violations.
A recent inspection found moldy Caesar and Greek dressing in the walk-in cooler with an expiration date from 2018. Moldy cardboard was found lining the shelves in the walk-in cooler.
An employee was observed preparing a ready-to-eat steak hoagie with her bare hands; no handwashing was observed during the entire inspection.

Temperatures in the food prep cooler were too high to safely store the food inside. Ready-to-eat foods were not labeled with discard dates.
The pizzeria remains open.
