Consumer Alert Issued For Pittsburgh-Area Variety Store

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for the Dollar General store in Sharpsburg.

An inspection this week found mouse droppings on the floor throughout the back storage room and on several mobile storage carts, along with evidence of gnawing and possible nesting.

Scattered mouse droppings were found on food shelves, pet food shelves and linen shelves. There was evidence of gnawing and rodent consumption of a Cup of Soup.

Mouse droppings also were found inside the women's rest room, scattered on the floor next to shelves along the walls and next to the rear exit door.

The store remains open while the violations are being addressed.
