Consumer Alert Issued For Pittsburgh Chicken Eatery

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for the Quik-It Chicken location on Pennsylvania Avenue in the city's North Side.

A recent inspection found live cockroaches near the hand sink across from ventilation hoods and under the center table around an electrical outlet. Dead roaches were found to have accumulated in the corners, along the walls and under - and in - equipment in the rear of the store.

Additionally, drain flies and fruit flies were observed near the mop sink, beneath the steam cooker and in the customer area.

Toxic spray bottles of insecticide were found on a wire rack in the back of the kitchen.

Inspectors also found the floors were heavily soiled with grease and food debris. Dirt was seen along the walls, under the cooking equipment and in the walk-in cooler.

Excessive grease was found to have accumulated on, under and around the cooking equipment.

The eatery remains open while the alert is in effect.
