Coronavirus Claims Life Of Popular Pittsburgh Singer
One of the city's best-known singer-songwriters died Wednesday of coronavirus complications.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Anne Feeney, a Pittsburgh area singer-songwriter and political activist, died Wednesday of coronavirus complications. She was 69.
Her death was announced on social media by her daughter, Amy Sue Berlin.

According to Ms. Feeney's website, she had a 35-year performing and recording career focused on benefiting people on strike, in a union or community organizing drive and defending human rights and the environment.

Ms. Feeney toured played thousands of shows in North America and Europe, released 12
recordings and wrote the protest song “Have You Been to Jail or Justice” made popular by Peter, Paul, & Mary and featured in several films.
She received the Joe Hill award from the Labor Heritage Foundation in 2005.
