Daylight Saving Time 2021: Prepare To Spring Ahead
After a four-month hiatus, daylight saving time returns this weekend.
PITTSBURGH, PA - On the bright side, your early evenings are about to become a bit brighter. But you likely will have to surrender an hour of sleep this weekend for it to happen.
Daylight Saving Time, or "daylight savings time" as it commonly is known, returns at 2 a.m.
Sunday.
You'll need to set your analog clocks and watches ahead an hour either before you go to bed Saturday night or when you wake on Sunday.

The practice of Daylight Saving Time, roughly a century old in the U.S., is intended to make better use of the day's light by shifting an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.

On Saturday, sunrise occurs at 6:34 a.m. and sunset happens at 6:24 p.m. On Sunday, the sun will rise at 7:32 a.m. and set at 7:26 p.m.
The days will continue to get longer until the summer solstice occurs on June 21, when we'll have just over 15 hours of daylight. The sun will rise at 5:49 a.m. and set at 8:53 p.m.
The days then will begin to get shorter and Daylight Saving Time will end on Nov. 7.
