Five Things To Do Around Pittsburgh This Weekend

Here's your Patch weekend entertainment guide for the Pittsburgh area.

PITTSBURGH, PA —Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are Patch's picks for the best entertaining activies:

  • 2021 WPA Juneteenth Freedom Days Festival, June 18-20, Point State Park.

The 2021 Western Pennsylvania Juneteenth Celebration involves Africa American culture, education, live music, vendors, speakers and more. The local festival began in 2013; this year marks the first Pittsburgh and Allegheny County legal holiday commemorating the end of slavery.

  • Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cleveland Indians; June 18, 7 p.m.; June 19, 4 p.m.; June 20, 1 p.m., PNC Park.

It's clear at this point in the season that the Pirates are a laughingstock, an object of ridicule, a team that invites scorn and derision - and that's just from fans. So why go see them in all likelihood lose yet again? Because everyone needs a good laugh now and then, and this sorry excuse for a baseball team is nothing if not laughable.

  • Snowball Day, June 20, 10 a.m., Carnegie Science Center, North Shore.

Share some fun with Dad and launch your snowball with a slingshot at the center's snowball launch site.
