Former Pittsburgh Pirates Star Dies
A former Pittsburgh Pirates star famous for a once in a lifetime feat has died.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Rennie Stennett, the only player in Major League Baseball history to go 7-for-7 in a game, died Tuesday. He was 72,

In 1975, Stennett, a second baseman, had seven hits in seven at-bats in the Pirates 22-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. He remains the only player in history to have accomplished that feat.

Stennett also helped the Pirates to two World Series championships in 1971 and 1979.
"Rennie symbolized what it meant to be a Pittsburgh Pirate," Pirates president Travis Williams said in a release.
