Health Department Orders Closure Of Pittsburgh Restaurant

PITTSBURGH, PA ? The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of Diamond Beach on Washington Boulevard in Lincoln-Lemington for numerous health code violations.

An inspection on Wednesday revealed the restaurant does not have a valid permit from the health department's food safety program.

The eatery also lacks a proper sink to wash, rinse and sanitize. Old food debris accumulations were found inside the slushee machine and ice bin.

The restaurant also has four portable toilets but no public restrooms for either gender.

There is no hand washing sink behind the bar.

The "closed" placard is posted at an establishment when an imminent health hazard is identified at a restaurant or if it has been operating without proper permits. It is unlawful to operate a food facility with a "closed" placard.
