Health Department Orders Pittsburgh Grocery Closed

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has shut down a Homewood market for numerous health violations. Adan Market on Frankstown Avenue is closed until further notice.

A recent inspection revealed the following:

  • Snacks chewed by rodents that included popcorn, sunflower seeds, potato chips and other items.
  • Flats found with rodent droppings.
  • The repackaging of commercially prepared ice.
  • Employees smoking in the market.
  • Expired milk.
  • Coronavirus mandate violations that included required mask signage not posted, an employee not wearing mask and no social distancing.
