Health Department Shuts Down Pittsburgh Convenience Store
The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of a Pittsburgh convenience store.

PITTSBURGH, PA ? The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure of Dollar General on Brighton Road on the city's North Side because of an imminent health hazard.
An inspector on Tuesday noticed sewage odor emanating from the first floor and basement of the store. Evidence was uncovered of chronic and reoccurring sewage backups in the basement. Raw sewage was pooling in a quarter of the basement area.
Both sub pumps were found to be inoperable and one of them was modified to act as a relief outlet from the backup sewage by cutting the outlet side.
