KDKA-TV's Stacy Smith Retiring Wednesday

The longtime news anchor is calling it a career after a half-century in the news business.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Veteran KDKA-TV news anchor Stacy Smith retire on Wednesday, after a 38-year run with the station and a half-century of television news experience.

"I offer my heartfelt thank you for joining me each day on KDKA," Smith said recently on the station's website. "It has een my privilege to report the stories, from tragedies to triumphs and
the everyday events that affect all of our lives."

Before joining KDKA, Smith was a news anchor at WDAF-TV in Kansas City, Missouri, for six years. Before that, he worked at WHAS-AM/FM/TV in Louisville and WIFE-AM in Indianapolis. Smith began his broadcast careerat WLBC-AM/FM in Muncie, Indiana, in December of 1971.
