PITTSBURGH, PA — Kennywood has received yet another accolade for one of its famous coasters. The Phantom's Revenge finished second in USA Today's national poll on America's Best Roller Coaster.

This latest achievement of a coaster at the West Mifflin amusement park hardly is surprising. The Phantom's Revenge is Pennsylvania's fastest coaster and has an initial drop of 160 feet. Then things really get exciting.

"The 3,365-foot track of Phantom’s Revenge in Kennywood brings visitors frighteningly close to another of the park's coasters, Thunderbolt," USA Today wrote in its review of the coaster. "A hair-raising highlight is the second drop – a 230-foot thriller at 85 miles per hour."

Said Kennywood-Sandcastle general manager Mark Pauls: “It’s a huge honor to see Phantom’s Revenge recognized nationally – and we thank everyone who supported it. The Phantom packs a punch that’s hard to find anywhere else and headlines our world-class collection of roller coasters and thrilling rides.”

Besides the Thunderbolt, Kennywood’s coasters include the nine-inversion Steel Curtain, voted 2019’s Best New Roller Coaster; the Sky Rocket, Exterminator, Racer and Jack Rabbit.
