Loaded Handgun Confiscated At Pittsburgh Interational Airport
TSA screeners observed the weapon on Thursday morning.
FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA — TSA screeners on Thursday observed a loaded .45 caliber handgun in a passenger’s backpack at the main security checkpoint of Pittsburgh International Airport.
Allegheny County Police were alerted and determined that the 50-year-old male passenger possessed a valid concealed carry permit and inadvertently left the firearm in his bag. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was notified, and the passenger was permitted to fly.
At this time, no charges are expected to be filed. County police confiscated the weapon.
