Man Killed In Wrong-Way Parkway North Crash

The fatal accident occurred just before midnight on Monday, police said.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The driver of a car going the wrong way on the northbound lanes of I-279 as killed late Monday when he collided with a Pepsi truck. The accident happened near the Chestnut Street exit.

The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has yet to be identified. It's unclear why he was traveling in the wrong direction.

The driver of the truck has been hospitalized, police said. There was no word early Tuesday on his condition.
