Picklesburgh To Return At New Downtown Pittsburgh Location
The celebration of all things pickle-related will return after a year's pandemic-related absence.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The coronavirus outbreak forced the cancellation of last year's Picklesburgh, which USA Today readers in 2019 voted the top specialty food festival in the country. But Allegheny County council paved the way Tuesday night for the popular food festival to return.
Council agreed to let the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership stage the event on the county-owned Andy Warhol Bridge Aug. 18-23. Picklesburgh previously was held on the Roberto Clemente Bridge spanning Downtown and the North Shore at PNC Park.
Presented by Heinz, Picklesburgh is a free culinary event that includes international dishes and handcrafted foods from local chefs featuring house-cured pickled vegetables; how-to demonstrations highlighting the farm-to-table movement and canning; fun pickle-themed
merchandise, live music, a kids area and a competitive pickle juice drinking contest.
