Pirates Dropping PNC Park Mask Requirements For Vaccinated Fans

The Pittsburgh Pirates won't mandate masks for fans fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Pirates fans who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus no longer will have to wear masks at PNC Park, the team announced on Friday.

“Effective immediately, the Pirates will no longer require guests who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to wear a face mask while at PNC Park," the team stated in a news release. "Guests who are not yet fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must continue to wear a face mask while at PNC Park."

Pirates president Travis Williams said: “We are excited to be able to quickly adjust our face mask policy, consistent with the Department of Health’s announcement. This is another
huge step in our return to normalcy here in Pittsburgh. "We appreciate the patience and
cooperation of our fans as we continue to adjust our health and safety protocols accordingly."
