Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Under Flash Flood Warning
Severe storms have created a dangerous rush hour environment in southwestern Pennsylvania.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County until 5:30 p.m.
Radar has indicated that storms have produced as much as 1.5 inches of rain this afternoon. Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses - as well as poor drainage and low lying areas - is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warning area.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Ross, McCandless, Monroeville, McMurray, McKeesport, Washington, Franklin Park, Canonsburg, Shaler, Plum, West Mifflin, North Side and Baldwin.
