Pittsburgh Native Among Those Missing in FL Condo Collapse

PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh-area native is among the more than 150 people still missing after last week's partial collapse of a condominium in Surfside, Florida.

Nicole Doran-Manashirov, originally from South Park, is among the missing, according to a list published in the Miami Herald. Her husband, Ruslan Manashirov, also is missing.

According to The New York Times, the couple was married last month. They lived on a large, beach-view unit on the building's seventh floor.

Friends have repeatedly called the phone numbers for both since the collapse, but no one has answered.

The New York Times reported that Nicole Manashirov is a nurse. Ruslan Manashirov is a general practitioner and a native of Azerbaijan.

At least nine people have been confirmed dead in the collapse. The Manashirovs are among the 152 people still unaccounted for as of Monday morning.

Rescue crews began this week as they ended last week - sifting through the debris as hopes of finding survivors grow increasingly dim.
