Pittsburgh Nightclub Closed For Coronavirus Mandate Violations

The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered a Pittsburgh club to close for COVID-19 and other health violations.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered Club Long Island in Uptown, operated by the East End Negro Veterans Association, to close for ignoring state coronavirus mandates and other health violations.

A recent inspection found patrons admitted after midnight, no social distancing between patrons and bar and alcohol service without servicing food. None of the people in the club were wearing masks or face coverings.

Additionally, there was no evidence of sanitizing or of disinfecting frequently touched surfaces as required.

Also, old mouse droppings were discovered behind the bar cabinets.

The club must submit a COVID-19 safety plan to the health department prior to a reopening inspection.
