Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Pittsburgh, Western PA
The National Weather Service expects severe storms to develop throughout the region this afternoon.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Pittsburgh and all of western Pennsylvania until 8 p.m. this evening.
The affected counties are Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Somerset, Venango, Warren, Washington and Westmoreland.
The just-issued watch cautions that some of the storms that develop could have wind gusts as high as 70 mph and quarter-sized hail.
