Summer-Like Temperatures Headed For Pittsburgh Area

After last week's snow and cold temperatures, prepare for much warmer weather in southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — After what could have been winter's last gasp last week, temperatures in southwestern Pennsylvania will feel more like summer for the next few days.

According to the National Weather Service, highs will approach 80 for the next several days. Here is the forecast:

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54. Light west wind.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. Light southeast wind.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a
high near 76. Southeast wind 5 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
