Upper St. Clair To Hold Household Hazarous Materials Collection

Nominal charges will apply to get rid of the potentially dangerous materials.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Have any hazardous materials around the house that you'd like to dispose of? You're in luck. The township will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the municipal building.

Accepted Materials:

  • Mercury containing devices (i.e. Thermometers).
  • All batteries.
  • Light bulbs-neon-infrared-fluorescent.
  • Oil-based or latex paints.
  • Flammable liquids.
  • Deck stains.
  • Fertilizers.
  • Pool chemicals.
  • Gasoline.
  • Antifreeze.
  • Putties, glues and adhesives.
  • Wood, metal and finishing products.
  • Water sealers.
  • Household cleaning agents.
  • Propane tanks.

  • $1.45 per pound for household hazardous waste.
  • $0.63 per pound for small Freon containing devices.
  • $1.37 per pound for universal waste (bulbs and batteries)
  • $6.70 per pound for mercury containing devices.
  • $8.00 each for propane tanks.
