Veteran Pittsburgh TV News Personality Retiring
A longtime Pittsburgh news anchor is about to end his career.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Veteran KDKA-TV news anchor Stacy Smith will retire at the end of May, the station announced on Monday. He has been with the station for 38 years and has a half-century of television news experience.
“I offer my heartfelt thank you for joining me each day on KDKA," Smith said on the station's website. "It has een my privilege to report the stories, from tragedies to triumphs and
the everyday events that affect all of our lives.”
Before joining KDKA, Smith was a news anchor at WDAF-TV in Kansas City, Missouri, for six years. Before that, he worked at WHAS-AM/FM/TV in Louisville and WIFE-AM in Indianapolis. Smith began his broadcast career at WLBC-AM/FM in Muncie, Indiana, in December of
1971.
