Fired Plum Teacher Sues School District
The former teacher wants the district to hold a hearing so he can attempt to clear his name.

PLUM BOROUGH, PA - A former Plum School District teacher fired last year after being found not guilty of a harassment charge has filed a federal lawsuit against the district.
Mark Garvey, a former health teacher, contends he was fired in July after the district made unspecified accusations regarding his conduct around female students, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. The district also failed to provide him with a public hearing to clear his name, the lawsuit asserts.
Garvey was suspended in March 2018 after child abuse allegations against him were reported to the Childline service. School resource officer Joe Little filed a harassment charge against him, but Garvey was found not guilty by District Judge Linda Zucco in May.
