Plum Disaster Distraction: School District Schedules Movie Night

The Plum Borough School District will have an upcoming movie night event in the wake of last weekend's tragedy that killed five people.

PLUM, PA ? As a sign that a grief-stricken community is getting back to normal, the Plum Borough School District will hold a back-to-school family movie night at the high school stadium on Saturday.

The movie will be "The Sandlot." It will begin after sunset, between 8:30-9 p.m.

Beginning at 7:30 p.m., there will be food trucks, games for kids and school resource information tables.

The event will be held a week after a house explosion on Rustic Ridge Drive killed five people - including borough manager Michael Thomas and borough community development director Heather Oravitz, who co-owned the home that exploded.

The cause of the blast has not yet been determined.
