Lelulo's Pizzeria Gives Back To The Community

Patch readers have nominated Lelulo's as a Plum Business of the Year.

PLUM AND OAKMONT, PA — It's been a roller-coaster year for most businesses in Plum and Oakmont. The coronavirus pandemic has presented several challenges for most local businesses, from the closures in the spring to enduring restrictions and other hurdles that continue this fall.

But many of Plum and Oakmont's best-known businesses have managed to navigate the turbulence with steadfast determination and an unwavering commitment to the clients they serve. To shine a special spotlight on these local businesses, Patch has asked readers to nominate Local Businesses of the Year.

One of the businesses getting many early nominations is Lelulo's Pizzeria in in Plum. The pizza place in Unity Plaza obviously has extremely loyal customers.

"The food is incredible and the owner and staff are so generous in helping out our neighbors and community," Amanda Loperfito wrote in her nomination. "From providing free lunches to our kids during the school shut downs, to giving teachers free meals, etc. Patyn (McCune, the owner) and Lelulo's are a one of a kind place and we are so lucky that they're in our hometown."

"Amazing food and does all kinds of great things for the community," Sheleah Fronckowiak wrote. "Especially donations to senior care centers and free meals for kids during the spring school shutdown."

Wrote Jennifer Smith: "Incredible food, service, and outreach during COVID. The owner made free bagged lunches for kids so that no kid who was missing a school lunch would go hungry."

"Patyn goes above and beyond for the community. Her Community during the pandemic shut down and she took it upon herself to feed the children in the communities of Plum and Penn Hills so no child would go without food," Debbie Bell wrote.
