Oakmont Bakery Gives Away 10,000 Sandwiches
The bakery is providing the free sandwiches to help people during the coronnavirus outbreak.
OAKMONT, PA - Oakmont Bakery is giving away 10,000 sandwiches Monday to assist people during the coronavirus outbreak. The sandwiches are available in the bakery's rear parking lots at a drive-through for sandwich pickups only.
According to the bakery's Facebook page, there are 5,000 sandwiches with turkey, provolone and shredded lettuce on Italian bread and 5,000 sandwiches with roast beef, provolone and shredded lettuce on Italian bread. Each bag will contain a bag of Utz brand snackes.
The bakery also is giving away 20,000 one-pint bottles of Turner's milk.

The sandwich pickups are available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Monday.
"The drive-through is to offer sandwiches for individuals, families and organizations who need a little help or want to help others by picking them up and delivering them," a bakery Facebook post stated. "We’re limiting each vehicle to no more than 100 sandwiches. You will not need to leave your car. If you are picking up for others, please bring packaging. The sandwiches will be in individual lunch-size bags."

Besides the bakery, other organizations and individuals contributing to the giveaway effort include the Chaffin Luhana Foundation, Utz, Turner Dairy, Sparkt, Marty Griffin, KDKA-AM, Bird Dog's Sports Bar and Grill, J.V. Chujko, the Verona Giant Eagle, Oakmont Deli, Sam's Club Tarentum, Cellone's Bread, Riverview School District, Oakmont mayor Chris Whaley and Oakmont Police Chief Mike Ford.
