Obituary - David L. Gibb

David L. Gibb, lifelong resident of the Rosedale section of Penn Hills, passed away in his residence on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at the age of 79.

David was born in Penn Hills on November 19, 1933.  He was the son of the late David H. and Lydia (Mawhinney) Gibb; loving husband of the late Arlene K. Gibb; beloved father of Linda (Joseph) Kunkiewicz of Hillsborough, NJ; grandfather of Matthew and Hannah Kunkiewicz; dear brother of Shirley (Terrence) Morrison of Madison, Wisconsin and the late Joan Sherman.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews. 

Dave was a lifelong member of Rosedale United Methodist Church, where he served as the choir director.  He was the longest participant in the Oakmont Lions Club Shows, singing and participating in the shows since 1958.  Dave was retired from Gulf Research in Harmarville. 

Friends and relatives will be received on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. The Oakmont Lions singers will sing two songs in Dave’s memory at 7 pm during the visitation on Friday evening.  Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9:30 until time of 10:30 am funeral service in Rosedale United Methodist Church, 5501 3^rd St. Verona, 15147, with his pastor, the Rev. Don Blinn, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow next to his beloved wife, Arlene at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills.
