Pittsburgh-Area Native Elected To National Grand Elks Office

The prestigious position as a Grand Officer of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was awarded to local native Charles F. Cook of Pittsburgh's Etna area. The election and installation to office was performed at the Elks National Grand Lodge Convention on July 14-18, 2013 in Reno, NV.

Cook, who has made contributions to the Etna and Oakmont Elks Lodges, is a graduate of Carnegie Tech and was employed by PPG Industries for over 40 years. He has been an active Elk member for 51 years and held positions at Grand Lodge plus many positions throughout the Pennsylvania Elks organization, including that of PA Elks State President.

His tenure as the Elks National 3rd Vice President will be for one year. The Oakmont Elks has issued a statement, saying that members proudly salute Cook for this national recognition.

Cook has been married for 52 years to wife Louise and they have 6 children and 14 grandchildren.
