Third Suspect Sought In 3-Year-Old Girl's Death

Police are searching for a woman in connection with the death of Bella Rae Seachrist.

OAKMONT, PA —Police are searching for a third suspect in the June 9 death of a three-year-old girl who was found unresponsive in a home in the 500 block of Tenth Street. The child was badly bruised and malnourished when police and paramedics arrived.

According to Allegheny County police, detectives determined that the child’s father, 29-year-old Jose Eduardo Salazar-Ortiz Sr., 29; the child’s stepmother,Laura Michelle Ramriez, 27; and Ramriez’s sister, Alexis Herrera, 20, were responsible for the death of Bella Rae Seachrist.

Each has been charged with criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy,aggravated assault of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child,and endangering the welfare of a child. Herrera and Ramriez have additional charges of unlawful restraint and false imprisonment.

Ortiz and Ramriez are awaiting arraignment at the Allegheny County Jail. An arrest warrant has been issued for Herrera. She is a Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, six inches tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds.
