3 People Found Dead In Montco Home

Authorities are investigating after three people were found dead inside their home in Montgomery County.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities are investigating after three people were found dead inside their home in Montgomery County.

The bodies were found on Monday, Nov. 18 at a home along the 100 block of Erdenheim Road in Springfield Township, the District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene at 7:55 p.m. for a wellness check.

The victims are parents Robert McIntyre, 71, Sheila Dolan, 71, and their daughter, Julia McIntyre, 27.

A preliminary investigation suggested a "family tragedy," according to DA Kevin Steele, who indicated that the daughter's fatal wound appeared to be self-inflicted.

Authorities are awaiting autopsy results before announcing a cause of death or further information.

The quiet, residential block sits within the township's Erdenheim section. It's just a short distance from Morris Arboretum and La Salle College High School.
