Barstool Sports Will Help Conshy's Flanigan's Boathouse Survive
Watch the emotional moment when the beloved restaurant's owners heard the news from Barstool founder Dave Portnoy.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — The Barstool Sports fund has stepped in once again to help a Montgomery County small business survive the pandemic.
Flanagan's Boathouse in Conshohocken is the latest recipient of a special COVID-19 grant from the popular sports and pop culture website, which has raised more than $17 million for similar projects around the country.
"My parents are the hardest workers I know, and to think that there's a chance that this place could shut down is just heartbreaking," Brittany Weber, daughter of co-owners Jamie and Bill Weber, said in a video applying for the grant. "I don't know what we would do."

"Maybe my fav call yet," Portnoy said on Twitter, sharing the video New Years Day.

While the exact amount of funding Flanigan's will receive is not yet clear, Portnoy said "we'll be there for the rest of the journey" to help the local landmark weather the pandemic.
In a letter that accompanied their application, Brittany wrote about the crippling impact of the recent strict restrictions on restaurants, which led the Webers to take money of Bill's life insurance.
"We are doing everything we can think of to survive within the rules, and then the rules change or we are shut down again anyway," she wrote. See her full letter here.
During Portnoy's call, the phone was passed around to several members of the Weber family. Portnoy called the establishment a "perfect candidate" for the fund.
"The video you made reminded me of an 80s sitcom," he said.

Flanigan's isn't the first Montgomery County restaurant to receive support. This news comes just a week after a Blue Bell dance studio, Phoenix Arts, received a $50,000 relief package through the fund.
The Barstool Fund has raised more than $17 million, providing support to 74 small businesses nationwide impacted by the pandemic. Its total amount raised has nearly doubled in the past week as news of their work has spread.
Flanigan's, founded in 1989, is located on 113 Fayette Street in Conshohocken.
