The YW3CA is one of many YWCAs across the country that holds the annual contest to raise awareness of the need to combat hate, bigotry and racism that leads to violence. This year’s work focused on three distinct themes: Eliminating Racism, Empowering Women, and Promoting Peace, Justice, Freedom and Dignity for All.
Prizes were awarded in two age categories, grades 5-8 and grades 9-12, and featured artists from Berks, Montgomery and Chester counties. Judging was based on theme, creativity, neatness, originality and visual effectiveness. Winners’ artwork will be reproduced and included in the custom YW3CA stationery gift set.
Kylie, a Honors Photo 2 student at PWHS, received the award at a virtual artist reception on Monday, December 14.
