Fire Weather Watch Issued For Montgomery County

Montgomery County will be at an increased risk for fire on Tuesday due to a perfect storm of conditions.

Montgomery County will be at an increased risk for fire on Tuesday due to a perfect storm of conditions, the National Weather Service has announced.

A fire weather watch will be in effect from Tuesday at noon until 8 p.m.

A combination of strong winds, low humidity, and dry fuels will lead to a heightened risk of fire, the watch states.

Fires that do develop will have the risk of developing and spreading quickly.

Winds are expected to gust up to 25 miles per hour, while humidity will be as low as 25 percent, the National Weather Service said.

The below map, courtesy of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, shows the extent of a high wildland fire risk on Sunday already extending through almost all of Pennsylvania and into much of New England.

The watch is also in effect for Chester and Bucks counties, along with several South Jersey counties.
