Fort Washington Truck Fire Leads To I-276 Closures, Major Delays
I-276 lanes were shut down Thursday morning after a truck fire caused major delays in Montgomery County.

FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Lanes of I-476 were briefly shut down on Thursday morning after a truck fire caused major delays in the Fort Washington area.
The incident occurred before 8 a.m. near mile marker 338.1, between the Fort Washington exit and the Mid County Toll Plaza in Plymouth Meeting, turnpike officials said.
It's not yet clear what caused the incident, which blocked the center and left lanes in the westbound direction for some time. But the fire consumed much of the truck and had to be extinguished by firefighters with the Fort Washington Fire Company, along with other agencies.
