Germantown Academy Graduates 123

The GA Class of 2013 said farewell to their high school years on Friday morning.

Germantown Academy's graduation ceremony might have been moved inside under the threat of bad weather, but nothing dampened the enthusiasm of the 123 seniors and their families as they gathered in the Field House.

Student speakers Kenneth Anderson and Earl Edwards, head of school James Connor, and graduation speaker Theodore Haynie all offered advice or stories in their speeches.

Anderson, chosen by the faculty, offered a class prophecy for the year 2043 in which he imagined what his classmates would be doing, and impressively managed to name every single one of his fellow seniors.

Edwards, the speaker picked by the students, garnered laughs over his nicknames but in seriousness, advised his classmates to "not make life about being a destination, or a goal."

Four seniors were named as award winners during the ceremony.
