Montco's Legoland Receives Lego Lombardi Trophy From Boston

Boston's Legoland sent down a Lego replica of the Lombardi Trophy to Montgomery County. Celebrate the Eagles there this weekend.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — As the Super Bowl wager fallout continues, businesses, museums, politicians, and fans by thousands are reveling in the Eagles Super Bowl victory throughout the Philadelphia area. The latest thing sweetening the Eagles victory: the Legoland Discovery Center at the Plymouth Meeting Mall has received a model of the Lombardi Trophy, which the Eagles were presented as Super Bowl champions.

Because the Patriots lost to the Eagles, the team at Legoland in Boston dutifully built the entire Trophy and sent it down to Philadelphia, as agreed.

To celebrate the Eagles victory and their receipt of the real and Lego versions of the Lombardi Trophy, Legoland in Plymouth is hosting an Eagles-oriented display this weekend. Fans who arrive wearing green will receive a discount through Feb. 11.

The Master Model Builder at Plymouth also recreated the Eagles Super Bowl victory parade, complete with Lego figures climbing in the streets, and, yes, even climbing poles. No word if there is a Lego equivalent for Crisco that was applied beforehand.

A replica of many of the major sites of Philadelphia was built at Legoland for its opening. That model, including the Art Museum, Center City, and Lincoln Financial Field, serves as the backdrop for the model parade.
