Officer In Montco Under Investigation After Alleged Racial Slur

An internal investigation is underway after a police officer in Montgomery County allegedly used a racial slur.

EAST NORRITON, PA — Local police are conducting an internal investigation following an allegation that an officer used a racial slur.

The incident involves an East Norriton Township police officer who sent an email to a Philadelphia-based law firm.

The East Norriton Police Department said that they received a complaint describing a racial slur used by the officer in the email.

"We take all complaints seriously and have immediately begun an investigation into the matter," the department said in a statement Thursday. "We do not condone behavior/activity as alleged and we will conduct a thorough but swift investigation. We ask our community to be patient while we look into the matter and not rush to conclusions.
