Plymouth Township Council Names Day for 100-Year-Old
The governing body set Aug. 9, 2019 as Nick DiDomenico Day.
It’s not every day that someone has a day named in their honor. Then again, turning 100 is a special occasion. Especially for Plymouth Township resident Nick DiDomenico.
The Plymouth Township Council on Monday voted unanimously to designate Aug. 9 as Nick DiDomenico Day in honor of the soon-to-be centenarian’s 100th birthday.
DiDomenico, who frequents the Greater Plymouth Community Center daily, served in World War II from December 1943 until the war ended in August 1945. Much of his time in the war was spent cooking (when food was available) and serving on guard duty. He earned the rank of Technical Corporal and received many accolades.

“To survive that and live to be 100 years old …” Manero said. “We’re all grateful for your service, Mr. DiDomenico.”
