Psst! Your Neighbors May Be Paying Less Rent

A national website analyzes who is paying what in monthly rent.

If you rent in the Conshohocken area, you may be interested to know that your monthly rent might be higher than your neighbors.

A website called RichBlocksPoorBlocks.com has broken down these facts into a very digestable, detailed, yet understandable interactive map.

Do you want to know what the renters "next door" are paying? Do you need to beef up your negotiations with your landlord? This map can help.

As you can see from the image, those in Conshohocken are fairly divided. Sixth Avenue, according to the website, forms a "boundary" of sorts, separating the two divisions of averages.

Those that live below Sixth Avenue, average a monthly rental payment of just $958. Those that live above Sixth, seem to average higher rents of about $971 per month.

According to the site, the map uses data from Census reports.

"All data comes from the 2007 to 2011 American Community Survey. The statewide middle range covers Census Tracts which have a median monthly rent higher than the lowest 40 percent - and lower than the highest 40 percent - of this state's Census Tracts," says the map's "disclaimer."

The areas around the borough vary even more greatly. If you cross the river for example, and rent in the West Conshohocken area, you can expect average rent to go up to $1,179 per month.
