Behind A COVID Shield, Santa Returning To Malls In Montco
Santa is coming out of quarantine up north to return to local malls this holiday season — inside in a plexiglass box.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The pandemic isn't stopping Santa Claus from coming to town in Montgomery County this holiday season, but things will be a little bit different.
Visits from Saint Nick are scheduled several area Preit-owned malls, including Plymouth Meeting and Willow Grove Park in Montgomery County. There will be several added precautions in place to ensure coronavirus continues to be suppressed.
"This year, for the safety of visitors and himself, Santa will be stationed behind a plexiglass protection shield with a bench in front for visitors to sit," a spokesperson for Preit said. "Guests are able to interact with Santa through the shield and when it comes time for pictures, guests and Santa are permitted to remove their masks for a quick snap."

"Bubble Santa" can also be visited virtually, organizers said. A special five-minute, one on one Zoom call with Santa can be reserved.
Several types of visits with "Bubble Santa" can be reserved, ranging from a free, no-photo stop-by, to family photos, family pet photos, and an expanded experience that includes extra almost-lap time through the plexiglass.
